Nerdalius first annual SHORT STORY CONTEST! [Sign ups]

Welcome one and all. I notice we are lacking in this department so allow me to welcome you to the first annual SHORT STORY contest! In this contest, each participant will be allowed to enter one entry. There will not be many rules, and don't worry about your writing "sucking", I want to see something from everyone I possibly can! THE WINNER WILL RECEIVE 300 POINTS AND WILL ALSO GAIN ONE FREE ITEM FROM THE MAIN SHOP.

RULES:
1. Story must be at least 3 pages. Come on guys, it's not as hard as you think. Quality will be judged based on length, so writing longer won't necessarily give you a better score.

2. NO PLAGIARISM. Seriously, I want to see creativity. You can borrow ideas from places, but I don't wanna see copy paste central.

3. One entry per participant. If you enter something, you can edit it until the deadline, however I don't want you asking for a completely different story. Inform me of what you are changing before you do, and I will give you permission.

4. ALL STORIES MUST BE ENTERED BEFORE DEADLINE. I'm serious, I don't want to hear anyone complain cause they "forgot". If you don't submit, you aren't judged.


SUBMITTING:

You will submit your story by posting it in the submission form that will created upon the start of the contest. Once submissions are due, the forum will be locked. No Exceptions.


JUDGING:

The judges will be me and Mr. Pickles, our Head Admin. Judging will be done based on a rubric that will follow.

Tone: /10 (Does the author establish a tone and keep that tone throughout the story, or do they do switch it up? How well did they switch it up?)

Character: /10 (If the story has Characters, how are they defined? Do they immerse you in the story?)

Writing: /10 (Are the sentences well constructed? Do they all feel samey? Does the writing make sense?)

Engagement: /10 (Does the writer compel the reader to read more? Does the story seem interesting the entire way through?)

Setting: /10 (How well does the author describe the environment? Can you picture everything in your head? Do you feel as if you were there?

Story: /10 (The story itself, how was it? Did it make sense? Did it have a clear beginning, middle, and end?)

Total: /60
