Apollo leaned against the cold wall plaster and sighed a breath of relief.

For whatever reason, his mark had given up chase.

And he was both grateful and frustrated.

While he escaped with his life, he knew could not return until one of them has died.

His right wrist tingled at the thought, "and to think I thought this'd be an easy pay."

Remilia Scarlet had a secret.

While she prided herself in the moniker as the 'Scarlet Devil', the origin of that title was something else entirely.

She was quite the messy eater; often voracious in her consumption, light as it was. Blood spilled from her lips and down her attire, dyeing it in sanguine.

The name was striking and Remilia fueled the publicity of her own fame to flatter her ego, spreading rumors and acclaim to herself.

This even proved to be an unexpected boon.

"Please", the worm of a man weakly wheezed. "I-I'll tell you where she is. Just-"

He let out a shuddering sigh as Remilia brushed her lips over the two small holes at the gape of his neck. "Speak, morsel. Speak or I shall take it by force."

As she finished speaking, she drooped over the wound, digging the tip of her tongue into the puncture and twisted. The peon shrieked in fright, struggling with his flailing torso and limp limbs.

Remilia Scarlet was not one to tolerate failure and compliance.

She did not tolerate it towards herself.

And certainly not this little shit.
